Working on Cruise Ships

Ever wondered how is it like to work on one of the biggest cruise ships in the world? This is my experience, my life and my view as an employee on one of the many cruise ships sailing around the world.

It's been a long time
It's been such a long time since I updated this blog it seemed only fair to let everybody know what happened.

But first I want to say that this blog will NOT close, it is jut temporarily put on hold as I also took a longer break from working on ships. Might wonder why is that...well....I AM GETTING MARRIED :-) Yes, it finally happened and I found a wonderful man who puts up with me so we're getting married at the beginning of June.

Of course, after the wedding and the honeymoon we will be going back to working on ships, hence why this blog is not closing. Meanwhile, being home for over a year now, I had to keep myself busy so I started to learn graphic design, my new hobby and one day probably my new carrier.

I started creating graphic products for social game platforms, for now it's Second Life only, but since my SL Marketplace shop is doing so well, I am planing to expand to other platforms like Avination and also to stock photo websites like Shutterstock and alike.

I've also created a new blog where my customers can keep up to date with the latest releases called ..::RO!ACT::..DESIGNS, which is the name of the company i am creating under.

The best part of this all is that I can continue creating even when I will working on ships again, all I will be needing is an internet connection once a week. So check out my new blog, ..::RO!ACT::..DESIGNS and let me know what you think, I am sure you will find it interesting. And also, check out Second Life, it's a wonderful place to meet people and create, and the best part is that it's free.

So yes, this is what I was up to all this time and I promise, once I set foot back on the ship, I will start posting again and inform everybody interested of the real life that goes on there.

See you all really soon i hope :-)

Commitment

It’s been one week since I got home and I had time to review my previous posts. Was funny to notice that they all are complains and it seems that I am mostly moaning about this or that. Well, it wasn’t my intent. My true intent was to let you know how it is like to work on a cruise ship, the unwritten rules as well as the written ones, the people and places you’re going to meet if you ever decide to take this road.

So I am making a commitment to you. From now on I will try to be as objective as I can possibly be so you will get a true picture of how ship life is. Might seem different from the other posts, but it is a beautiful adventurous life if you want to. It all depends on you and the choices you make and I am here you guide you and share my experience.

On the bright side, guess what? After 6 months of hard work, I finally “won” my reward. For two weeks I will be the guests and others will serve me. Where? In the land of smiles – Thailand. I will reach Bangkok on April 7th, will stay there for 5 days, them I’ll go to Pattaya for 9 days. I’ll let you know how all will work out.

I’ll keep it short today and I’ll try not to forget my commitment I made today
